About
Real Estate, Zoning & Land Use Attorney
Elliott B. Smith brings more than 25 years of private practice experience to zoning, land use, development, permitting, title insurance, and residential and commercial real estate closings. Based in Cumming, Georgia, his practice connects the legal requirements governing property development with the transactional details involved in bringing a real estate matter to closing.
Elliott’s experience spans the public approval process and the closing table. His background includes presenting zoning matters before local planning authorities, addressing development and permitting requirements, and handling title insurance and real estate transactions. This breadth gives him a practical perspective on how land use decisions, title considerations, and transaction requirements intersect.
Before attending law school, Elliott worked at Sutherland, Asbill & Brennan in Atlanta. While earning his law degree at Georgia State University College of Law, he served as an assistant to a bankruptcy trustee, helping manage cases in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
Elliott earned his Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law in 2000 and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Georgia in 1995. He is also a 1991 graduate of Woodward Academy.
Elliott is an active member of the State Bar of Georgia and a member of its Real Property Law Section. He resides in Cumming, Georgia.
